GRASAG-UCC Executives Elect Pay Working Visit to Registrar
On Thursday, 10th July 2025, the newly elected executive council of GRASAG-UCC, led by Mr. Gideon Quansah paid a courtesy visit to the Registrar of the University of Cape Coast, Mr. Gideon Enoch Abbeyquaye (Esq.).
The meeting was held at the Registrar’s office and provided a formal platform for the incoming leadership to introduce themselves, outline their shared vision, and raise a number of pertinent issues affecting postgraduate students.
The discussion centred on improving postgraduate academic infrastructure and support systems. Key issues raised by the President-elect included IRB decentralization, inadequate lecture space, and a proposal for lecture rooms dedicated to postgraduate students at the newly built Science Block. The executives elect also did a follow-up on the partitioning of seminar rooms at SGS to help mitigate the lecture theatre deficit. Moreover, discussions were held on the six-month academic grace period initiated by the Ipiin-Led Administration, plans for a Postgraduate Alumni Association, and avenues for research funding and industry collaboration. Finally, accommodation issues affecting postgraduate students were discussed.
Outgoing GRASAG-UCC Executives Meet Incoming Executives
On Friday, 4th July 2025, the outgoing GRASAG-UCC Executive Council, led by H.E. Robert Ipiin Gnankob (IPIIN), held a symbolic and strategic meeting with the incoming executives led by Mr. Gideon Quansah (OGIDI).
The meeting, which took place in a cordial atmosphere, served as a formal introduction between both leadership teams. The outgoing executives warmly congratulated the newly elected leaders on their victory in the just-ended elections and wished them a successful tenure.
In his remarks, H.E. Robert Ipiin Gnankob highlighted the achievements of his administration, including completed projects, ongoing initiatives, and key policy frameworks designed to benefit the postgraduate community. He emphasised the need for continuity and urged the new leadership to sustain the momentum for progressive transformation.
Several critical operational areas were thoroughly discussed, allowing the incoming executives the opportunity to ask questions, seek clarification, and gain a full understanding of the challenges, successes, and recommendations moving forward. The atmosphere was open, honest, and forward-looking.
A notable point raised during the meeting was the activation of the transitional provisions in Article 34(6) of the GRASAG-UCC Constitution, which mandates the formation of a transition team to ensure a smooth handover.
In response, the Ogidi-led executives-elect expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the outgoing team for the warm reception and pledged to uphold the values of integrity, innovation, and inclusiveness. They reaffirmed their commitment to building "the GRASAG we all desire."
This meeting marks a significant step in ensuring a peaceful and structured transition of leadership for the continuous growth of the association.

GRASAG-UCC PRESIDENT PARTICIPATES IN THE 10TH ANNUAL CONFERENCE AND 12TH AGM OF AWAU IN SENEGAL
The President of GRASAG-UCC, H.E. Robert Ipiin Gnankob, participated in the 10th Annual Conference and 12th Annual General Meeting of the Association of West African Universities (AWAU), held at Université Cheikh Anta Diop de Dakar (UCAD), Senegal, from February 19 to 22, 2025.
The conference brought together Vice Chancellors, university administrators, academics, and industry players to discuss the future of education and economies in the era of artificial intelligence.
As part of the event, H.E. Robert Ipiin Gnankob presented a paper on "Dynamics of Digital Transformation and Internationalisation on the Environmental Sustainability of SMEs." His presentation emphasized the vital role of SMEs in Ghana’s economy and the need for environmentally sustainable business practices amid rising climate change concerns. He urged governments, especially in Ghana, to leverage digitalization to support SME internationalization and sustainability.

GRASAG-UCC President Delivers State of GRASAG Address, Unveils GHS1M Fundraising Initiative
On Friday, February 7, 2025, H.E. Robert Ipiin Gnankob, President of GRASAG-UCC, delivered the State of GRASAG UCC Address (SoGUA) at the House of Senate. The session was presided over by the Speaker of the Senate, Rt. Hon. Samuel Dzakpasu, and attended by members of the Executive Council, Senate, and other key stakeholders. The address provided a comprehensive update on key programs and initiatives implemented since September 2024.
A major highlight of the address was the announcement of upcoming events and the unveiling of the much-anticipated GHS1M Fundraising Exercise. The President officially introduced this ambitious project to the House, urging members to rally behind the initiative to ensure its success.
The funds raised will be dedicated to establishing a Research Centre and a Research Fund, aimed at enhancing graduate studies and research experiences within the university.
In addition to the address, the President, together with the Executive Council, witnessed another significant activity: the ratification of newly appointed subcommittee members of GRASAG-UCC. This process was overseen by His Lordship Justice Sharif Sagyeldoo Shani Amadu, Chief Justice of GRASAG-UCC. Other key personalities present included Senate leadership, Committee chairs, and Honourable Senators.

GRASAG-UCC President Meets Subcommittee Chairpersons and Members
On Wednesday, February 5, 2025, the President of GRASAG-UCC, H.E. Robert Ipiin Gnankob, met with the newly appointed Subcommittee members to officially congratulate them on successfully passing the vetting process and joining the Association’s leadership.
The President encouraged them to take their leadership roles seriously and nurture their leadership skills. He also urged them to work closely with the Executive Council to enhance the activities of GRASAG-UCC and contribute meaningfully to its progress.
Expressing his excitement, the President was impressed by the high number of applicants who showed interest in joining the Subcommittees, a testament to the growing commitment of postgraduate students to the Association’s development.
